PixieExcel Information

PixieExcel™ - Populates Excel spreadsheets with data from Pick databases (incl. ADP systems). A tool developed for the end-user as it provides a user-friendly interface to Pick from within Excel. Just install and run your queries.

General Introduction 

PixieExcel is an easy-to-use data import process that has been designed to allow the user to quickly and easily import data to an EXCEL spreadsheet from Pick. The select and import process is invoked from within Excel. It is a read only process.

The following screen shot shows the results of a simple query that populated the Excel spread-sheet with Sales-Order data. The SELECT and LIST statements were formulated by PixieExcel's query facility, and are shown in a separate window (MV Query) at the bottom of the screen. The check-marks indicate which attributes have been selected from the complete dictionary of that file. 

Also note that the fields Product-Code, Quantity, and Price are parallel multivalues, which have been expanded into individual rows on the spread-sheet. This MV expansion is automatically triggered by the value-mark char(253). To aid in reading the spread-sheet, the data column that contains the record key will be made BOLD when it is the first row of a set of multivalues. The record key is repeated in other rows of the same data set but will be displayed in ITALICS.
