Images from "Ani the Animator" - movie-making for Windows(TM)
Software by John Calder, a "Visual Basic" programmer here at TotalCo. John has a varied and colourful background including teaching and film-making. "Film" covered everything from "alternative cinema" seen in art festivals to the very commercial co-ordination of a visiting Japanese TV crew scratching our fair country for unusual, comical and bizarre material for offbeat game and quiz shows.

SO here we present John's contribution to the world of creative shareware and freeware.
Introduction
"Ani" and "ActiveMaths" are "Postcardware", ie these versions are free in the money sense but please "pay" by giving me feedback. While freely distributable, I reserve my copyright in them which means:
Usual sort of disclaimer: I have taken all care to make well- behaved programmes, well tested on a variety of machines, but I cannot be held responsible for how they run on yours.

Movie-making animation software for "Windows" with example movies.
Dance the Windows 2-step with "aniwin.zip". Place it in a pref empty temporary
directory or floppy disk and unzip it. This will reveal, amongst the resulting setup
files, "setup.exe" which you then run to get the working software. The setup
files are then no longer needed. Best to copy the set to a floppy disk and use that to
circulate "Ani" to friends.
Needs the file "Vbrun300.dll" which should already be on your computer in folder "Windows\System". Otherwise download "Vbrun300.zip"(220K)
Then help me with my research by sending me postcards, letters or email, making comments, suggestions or reporting on use... And contribute movie(s) ! "Ani" is a public art project growing from my work as a teacher of film/video. I want to put together a combined "Best of Ani" for my teaching and lectures, to enter into film festivals, and to be part of a possible educational video about the "Ani" project.
This is a light version of ANI. The full version is for sale for NZ$50 (approx US$25) from The Total Computer Co and offers image import from other graphics programs and a more advanced editing capability eg copying and pasting sequences from movie to movie or within a movie.

Mostly Form 5 (Year 11, Age 14-16) interactive Maths, most topics. Especially suitable for "School Certificate Exam" prep and revision. Also has a section on computer programming of "algorithms", suit Form 7 (Year 13).
DOS set of programmes, well-behaved under Windows. Can work on the humblest of PCs, but gives its best with colour graphic screens eg VGA.
This is a light version of ACTIVEMATHS. The full version is for sale for NZ$30 (approx US$15) from The Total Computer Co. It gives a second practice test and extra programs on Rounding Off and Integers.

The graph plotting routine from DOS "ActiveMaths" moves to Windows. I've used Windows' extra presentation abilities to make a mouse-responsive floating window into which you can enter your equations in familiar bookwork form.
The file "wsimplot.zip" unzips directly to "wsimplot.exe" and "wksheet.wri" which are immediately ready to start without any extra setup step. If you want a clickable icon, you need to set that up yourself. "wsimplot.exe" requires "Vbrun300.dll" to be present, which it will be on most systems. Otherwise download "Vbrun300.zip"(220K)
Download "wsimplot.zip", only 12K
