What PixieWeb is?  A General Explanation PixieWeb is a tool-kit for PICK data access, which can be used to solve a wide variety of common data access problems. It is an ActiveX .dll providing access to the MVDBMS via Telnet, from languages such as VB and PERL. PixieWeb provides database independent access to data from Windows.  PixieWeb software is a low-cost, reliable and high-performance universal data connection option. It is a socket-based component developed entirely by PixieWare Software. PixieWeb in combination with PixieRobot acting as the console, can be used to move data in and out of PICK systems. PixieWeb Features PixieWeb is a end-user friendly middleware connection tool, that transmits source data in a format that can be used by common Windows and Web-based tools. PixieWare Origins:   Rather than invent new or different methods of access to MV engines, we set out to make intelligent, creative, and extended use of the rock solid Telnet interface that all MV engines have in common. This formed the basis of all the PixieWare software products. We restricted ourselves to the MV database market while the products matured.   We developed a fast and reliable alternative approach to Replace ODBC  which was a disappointment for many MV systems because it mismatched their fundamentals.     PixieWare Has Evolved:   Now that most computing has shifted into a distributed computing environment, we have intelligently used the basic interactive communications facility (Windows Sockets) to build compliant TCP/IP networking applications. In fact whenever we need to communicate between diverse systems we make a continuous connection for the session, and conduct data transfer operations such as writing data through the socket to some other application, or reading data from some other application through the socket.
