PixieEngine PixieEngine software puts "Pick onto VB and SQL". Convert your MV application and data to some of the Worlds popular databases (e.g. MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, ACCESS) and use the RAD features of Visual Basic for future development. RAD and SQL transformation for your legacy code, plus you keep the MV principles. Also available are drivers for traditional MV datastores (D3, Universe).
PixieWeb A general connectivity device between Windows and MV systems. Clients can be browsers, VB (or other COM aware languages), or desk-top apps. A general connectivity alternative for ODBC. Unlike other products, PixieWebŪ (and PixieLinkŪ) provide field-by-field, interactive editing and server response to each data entry action, just like your green-screen software. The browser-user-interface (BUI) is achieved by adding HTML markup tags, which do much the same job as the traditional terminal escape sequences. HTML may even include such things as references to other web documents using hyperlinks, instructions for text formatting and other features such as image placement. Events occurring on a browser (e.g. mouse clicks, mouse movements, field value changes) invoke MV-side operations to update the current page without repainting it. Key PixieWeb features: 1) persistent or non-persistent connections, 2) no phantom processors used just conventional programs, 3) field-by-field or batch processing of forms, 4) Webserver may be IIS or Apache.
PixieLinkPixieLinkŪ is the first of a new breed of super terminal emulator (also an HTML interpreter), which provides a full Windows GUI environment to terminal-serving programs. PixieLink communicates with a legacy Pick application via HTML. PixieWeb code is usable without change and without the web server.
Re-Form With These Utility Software Tools
PixieWeb PixieWeb is the "Windows-to-PICK" connector component of some of our products, but in its own right, PixieWeb can be used to develop your own solutions for extracting MV data using object oriented programming languages (e.g. VB, VBScript, PERL, Visual FoxPro). Example VBSript Extract
PixieExcel Populates Excel spreadsheets with data selected by Pick database queries.PixieRobot Pixierobot is a robot Web scraping tool, and an email application which can send and receive data by email.
PixieEditor Provides a modern method of editing MV data and programs with data item viewing and editing facilities, that has a "look and feel" close to the style that has become standard for Windows text and word processors. Also provides a simple MV data extract facility to MySQL, MS ACCESS, MS SQL Server.
PixiePrint PixiePrint takes printer output from Pick in either plain text, VBSCRIPT, or HP PCL format and translates it into a universal Windows GDI format for any printer setup on Windows. PixiePrint will convert PCL codes into the generalised Windows GDI printer instruction set, and provides additional print features (e.g. colour, shading, bar code support).
PixieBridge With Pixiebridge you can access a serial Pick server across a network via a terminal emulator, also through a dial-up connection, and even use it as a Web Database Server via PixieWeb. Pixiebridge translates the serial line connection to a TCP/IP server. This gives you modern network access to AP/PRO and similar older MV engines which connect via a serial cable from the Pick server to the Windows machine where Pixiebridge is installed.
